Slope Intercept Form Formula:

y = mx + b

Slope Intercept Form Definition

One, of the mathematics formula variety, is the Slope Intercept Form Calculator. It takes two inputs, the slope and the y-intercept, and runs it through a bit of code. These values are then placed within the slope-intercept form, y = mx + b, and shown to the user.

As an example, if the user were to state that m equals 5 and b equals 12 then the output of the calculator would return y = 5x + 12.

Calculator Pro does not just hand over a script to be copied and pasted directly into one’s website. They do much more by allowing the user to customize the look and feel of each script.

Customizing the Background Color

First, a background color can be specified. Clicking on the background color menu causes a box to pop up where a pallet of colors is shown. A slider bar is used to select the basic hue, everything from black to white. Then, a cursor can be moved to select, for instance, a darker or lighter red or yellow. This same process can be repeated with the border color and text color.

Not only is it possible to select and save each color choice, a live sample is shown directly beneath the color selections. Once a new color is selected, the sample changes to match the user’s choice. This makes it easy to sample different color combinations without having to guess whether or not it will look good as a whole.

Changing the Width and Font Size

The width of the Slope Intercept Form Calculator can also be changed. Once again, Calculator Pro makes this process easy by providing a slider bar that can be moved across the page. This allows for a selection of widths between 200 and 1000 pixels. As with the color choices, this slider immediately affects the sample. When the width changes on the slider the reality is reflected directly in the sample.

The last change that can be made is the font size that will be used for the title, slope, and y-intercept headers. Font sizes from 10 to 20 pixels are available in a drop box. Like the former two options, the font size is shown immediately in the sample.

Obtaining the JavaScript Code

When all the specifications have been made, the user can copy and paste the JavaScript code that is generated at the bottom of the page. The code contains all the changes in color, width, and font size that were made in the previous sections. The final step is to have a webpage to host the unique Slope Intercept Form Calculator.
